Since our formation more than 30 years ago, Lakeland has grown to become market leader in the manufacture of tankers for the energy distribution industry.   Today our name is synonymous with quality, reliability and innovation.  Our rapidly expanding customer base includes almost every leading oil and gas company, and significant inroads into export markets across the world have been made with Lakeland equipment in four of five continents.

industry leaders

When you do business with us, you are dealing with some of the most experienced names within the tanker industry.  The highly specialised knowledge of our team of directors, managers and engineers is unequalled.  It is this knowledge which enables us to continue to develop new and innovative solutions to the problems of transporting hazardous materials.  As well as gas and oil companies, Lakeland have recently captured highly specialised contracts with government departments, reflecting the high esteem in which we are held both within and outside our own industry.

Commitment to improving tanker quality has prompted Lakeland to take a proactive approach to the establishment of benchmarks for the industry as a whole.  We are on a number of committees, working to ensure that companies within the industry meet minimum standards of quality and safety.  Our own tankers already exceed these standards and even in pursuit of overseas markets where the same exacting standards may not apply.  Lakeland refuses to compromise on the quality of its products.

unlimited choice

Individual needs vary widely and Lakeland has responded by producing totally bespoke tankers, designed to suit specific requirements.

From the smallest 3.5 tonne urban rigid up to massive 44 tonne gross vehicle weight LPG and fuel trailer combinations.  Lakeland develop products to customers' exact specification.  While many customers know precisely what they want, those who do not are offered expert advice by our team of engineers.  Again, this is tailored to individual circumstances and may take the form of an informal discussion or full presentation, according to what is required.

As well as variations in size, capacity, equipment and configuration, customers may have differing priorities for their tankers - for example, ease of access, vehicle performance or the characteristics of discharge equipment.  Regional factors, such as the narrowness of roads, also have an impact on tanker design. Lakeland's flexible approach means that we can accommodate all of these criteria to produce a vehicle which precisely meets the demands of customers.
